The first official drive!

Today we have received the license plate (for the rear end of the car) and at the DIY shop we reproduced a plate for the front of the car.

Early this evening, I mounted the plates, so we were officially ready to drive. Hurray! Just for the sake of it, my wife and I made a very short trip and we took the opportunity to fill the fuel tank...

In summary, this was the trip to 'Start2Drive':

  • Thursday 16 May: my first visit to Vemu Car Classics to see the 107's they had on stock
  • Saturday 18 May: After further investigation on one model spotted on Thursday, I bought the car that is subject of this blog
  • Wednesday 22 May: The car has been delivered to my doorstep
  • Saturday and Sunday 25 and 26 May: Adapted the USA headlights
  • Friday 31 May: First vehicle inspection to retrieve a list of attention points
  • Saturday 1 June: Full vehicle inspection at local workshop, so list of products to order could be created
  • Saturday 8 - Monday 10 June: Ball joints replaced, so ready for new inspection...
  • Tuesday 11 June: Second attempt at the Vehicle Inspection: Pass!
  • Tuesday 11 June: Arranged insurance for the car and made an appointment for the Vehicle Registration on 24 June (as I would be on holiday between 15 and 22 June)
  • Monday 24 June: Vehicle Registered without any issues
  • Tuesday 25 June: License plate received and duplicated and mounted

Off we go!

The fuel tank has been filled now, so we are ready for the upcoming weekend: the 'Historisch Weekend' in Den Helder on Saturday and Sunday 29 and 30 June.

This post closes the 'Start2Drive' Section of this blog ;-)
